Amid the vibrant atmosphere of the 2025 Guangzhou Hi-End Premium Audio Exhibition, Cen.Grand held the official launch event for its core strategic product—the GLD1.0 digital audio player—drawing the attention of audiophiles and industry professionals alike. The event was hosted by Mr. Wu Bin from HiFi168, with Cen.Grand founder Mr. Jianhui Deng attending in person to give a detailed overview of the company’s development journey and an in-depth analysis of the design philosophy and technical highlights behind the GLD1.0. This was not just a product unveiling, but a focused presentation of the company’s technological vision.

邓剑辉先生在发布会上表示，世纪格雷自2011年在深圳成立以来，一直以“技术创新”为品牌核心，从不随波逐流。其早期蓝光播放器产品就与美国Marvell合作，采用“独立音频双时钟”架构，在数字视频音频设备中脱颖而出。

2013年推出的9i-AD音视频播放器在HiFi市场掀起热潮，后续的“乌金版”、“乌金终极版”等型号更是成为耳熟能详的发烧级数字音源。随着DSD音频的兴起，世纪格雷于2014年开始研发真正1bit架构、具备升频与重建时钟能力的DSD解码器，历时五年，于2019年推出DSDAC1.0，成为全球少数真正意义上的1bit解码器之一。2021年DSDAC1.0豪华版的上市，标志着世纪格雷在国际HiFi市场的全面突破。

At the launch event, Mr. Jianhui Deng stated that since its founding in Shenzhen in 2011, Cen.Grand has always placed "technological innovation" at the core of its brand, never following industry trends blindly. In its early days, the company’s Blu-ray players already stood out in the digital AV equipment market by collaborating with Marvell (USA) and adopting an “independent dual audio clock” architecture.

In 2013, the release of the 9i-AD audio-video player sparked a wave of interest in the HiFi market. Subsequent models such as the “Wujin Edition” and the “Wujin Ultimate Edition” became well-known high-end digital sources among audiophiles. With the rise of DSD audio, Cen.Grand began developing a true 1-bit architecture DSD DAC in 2014—capable of both upsampling and clock reconstruction. After five years of R&D, the DSDAC1.0 was launched in 2019, becoming one of the few true 1-bit DACs in the world. The release of the DSDAC1.0 Deluxe Edition in 2021 marked Cen.Grand’s full breakthrough into the international HiFi market.

在蓝光音源逐渐式微、数播逐渐成为主流的趋势下，世纪格雷于2018年启动了下一代核心音源系统的研发，这也催生了GLD1.0的诞生。数播长期以来被认为在音质表现上不如传统CD，这是一个困扰整个HiFi圈多年的共识。邓剑辉指出，这一问题的根源在于大多数数字播放器所使用的USB异步音频协议。该协议因设计允许数据传输错误，严重影响了数据的完整性（bit perfect），这在需要极高实时性和准确性的音频传输中尤为致命。

为此，GLD1.0彻底“抛弃”了USB异步协议，转而采用基于X86_64架构、Windows系统平台、PCIe接口输出的同步传输方案。通过PCIe这种原本为高性能计算设计的严谨协议实现音频数据传输，并配合创新的同步时钟系统和POW传输协议，GLD1.0成功解决了音频播放中的核心痛点。香港《音响技术》杂志甚至评价GLD1.0为“拥有革命性设计的数字播放器”，足见其创新程度和市场影响力。

GLD1.0的另一个技术亮点是独创的POW（Parting of the Way）传输协议。其核心思想是将时钟与音频数据分离传输：音频数据通过光纤，时钟信号则通过同轴线缆，在解码器端使用定制的接收模块重建为I2S信号，从而最大限度保证同步性和还原性。这一设计兼具技术难度和实用价值，极大提升了数字播放的音质表现。

As Blu-ray audio sources gradually declined and digital audio players (streamers) emerged as the mainstream, Cen.Grand launched the development of its next-generation core audio system in 2018—laying the foundation for the birth of the GLD1.0. For years, digital streamers have been widely regarded as inferior to traditional CD players in terms of sound quality—a long-standing consensus in the HiFi community. Mr. Jianhui Deng pointed out that the root cause lies in the widespread use of the USB asynchronous audio protocol. This protocol, by design, permits data transmission errors, which severely compromises data integrity (bit-perfect transmission)—a critical flaw in high-precision, real-time audio playback.

To address this, the GLD1.0 completely abandons the USB asynchronous protocol and instead adopts a synchronous transmission architecture based on the X86_64 platform, running Windows OS, and utilizing a PCIe output interface. By leveraging PCIe—a protocol originally engineered for high-performance computing—to transmit audio data, and combining it with an innovative synchronous clock system and the proprietary POW (Parting of the Way) protocol, the GLD1.0 successfully resolves the core bottlenecks of digital audio playback. The Hong Kong magazine Audio Technique even praised the GLD1.0 as “a digital player with revolutionary design,” highlighting both its innovation and market impact.

Another standout feature of the GLD1.0 is its proprietary POW (Parting of the Way) transmission protocol. The core idea is to separate the transmission of the clock and audio data: audio signals are sent via optical fiber, while the clock signal is transmitted through a coaxial cable. At the DAC end, a custom-designed receiver module reconstructs the signal into I2S, ensuring maximum synchronization and fidelity. This design, both technically sophisticated and practically valuable, significantly enhances the sound performance of digital audio playback.

 

邓剑辉先生通过演示，现场为来宾和媒体朋友比对了POW和USB传输的明显差异，世纪格雷也对于同业抱有及其开放的态度，期待同业可以在数播和解码产品中运用上POW如此优异的传输方式。此外，得益于使用Intel高性能CPU，GLD1.0拥有远超传统ARM架构播放器的运算能力，为高精度音频处理打下坚实基础。

目前，GLD1.0系列包括两款产品：标准版与豪华版。标准版采用第12代Intel赛扬处理器，满足主流发烧友需求；而豪华版则使用第11代Intel i7处理器，定位更高，计算性能与系统稳定性进一步增强，是为极致音质而生的旗舰解决方案。

据悉，GLD1.0首批发售后已收获高度好评，多位资深发烧友甚至将其列为“器材C位”级别的核心设备，足见其综合表现的优秀程度。发布会上，世纪格雷还透露，系列后续产品GLS1.0合并式播放器预计将于年内推出，为品牌整体生态补全更丰富的功能。

Through a live demonstration, Mr. Jianhui Deng showcased the significant differences between POW and USB transmission for the attending guests and media, clearly illustrating the advantages of the POW protocol. Cen.Grand also expressed an extremely open attitude toward industry collaboration, welcoming other manufacturers to adopt the high-performance POW transmission method in their own streamers and DAC products. Additionally, thanks to the use of Intel’s high-performance CPUs, the GLD1.0 boasts computational power far beyond that of traditional ARM-based players, providing a solid foundation for high-precision audio processing.

Currently, the GLD1.0 series includes two models: the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition is equipped with a 12th Gen Intel Celeron processor, meeting the needs of mainstream audiophiles. The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, uses an 11th Gen Intel i7 processor, offering even greater computing performance and system stability—designed as a flagship solution for ultimate sound quality.

According to reports, the first batch of GLD1.0 units received highly positive feedback upon release, with many seasoned audiophiles even considering it a “centerpiece component” in their systems—testament to its exceptional all-around performance. At the launch event, Cen.Grand also revealed that a follow-up model in the series—the GLS1.0 all-in-one player—is expected to debut later this year, further enriching the brand’s product ecosystem with expanded features.

It is worth noting that the core technology behind the GLD1.0 has been granted a national invention patent—a rare achievement in the HiFi industry. Most audio companies, even if they hold patents, typically possess only “utility model” patents. Brands that obtain full-fledged invention patents are exceedingly few, further validating Cen.Grand’s deep technical strength and capacity for true innovation.
